My Top Ten Thoughts On The Giver So Far:

1. Why is Jonas so nervous about the Ceremony of Twelve?

2. Why did Jonas' dad want to bring Gabriel home with him?

3. I thought it was interesting that Jonas took an apple because he saw it change. What is the change?

4. I thought it was strange that Jonas and his community members were so frightened by a jet plane. We see jet planes all the time and many of us don't think twice about them.

5. I wonder why Lois Lowry wrote this. What inspired her?

6. I wonder what it means to be "released."

7. Would it be easier to live in this type of society or is freedom of choice too important to me?

8. Which of the jobs would I have been assigned to?

9. I wonder in what direction OUR future is headed. Will it be like this?

10. So far, I love this book. I want to continue reading it.
